Mandatory Complication Insurance in Medical Tourism Is Back in Effect
Compulsory Complication Insurance in Medical Tourism Is Back in Effect
The enforcement of the mandatory complication insurance requirement, as stipulated in the Regulation on International Medical Tourism and Tourist Health, had previously been suspended by the Tenth Chamber of the Council of State.
Following an appeal by the Ministry of Health, the Council of Administrative Courts of the Council of State overturned this decision.
According to the decision, complication insurance is once again mandatory for surgical and interventional procedures performed in an operating room setting within the scope of international medical tourism.
Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the administrative penalties listed in the third line of Form 4 of the Regulation.
To ensure that our colleagues do not face any penalties, it is important that they obtain the necessary insurance for surgical and interventional procedures performed in an operating room setting as part of international medical tourism.
