History

Establishment

The Istanbul Dental Association was established in December 1985, following the enactment of Law No. 3324 on the Turkish Dental Association.

Provisional Board of Directors Appointed on October 9, 1985

Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Manisalı, Prof. Dr. Erhan Akın, Dentist Yavuz Elitez, Prof. Dr. Selçuk Yılmaz, and Prof. Dr. Peker Sandallı served as “Members of the Interim Board of Directors”; and began their work following the first congress held in February 1986.

1st Ordinary General Assembly

At the 1st Regular General Assembly held on February 23, 1986, Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Manisalı, Prof. Dr. Gülümser Koçak, Dentist Celal Korkut Yıldırım, Dentist Haydar Aslan, Dentist Ertuğrul Oğuz, Dentist Ali Özden Uçansu, Dentist Çınar Erölçer, Dentist Hüseyin Meşeci, and Dentist Kazmir Pamir were elected to the Board of Directors; Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Manisalı became the president of the Istanbul Dental Association.
